Designed by William Morris in 1890, the Wallflower pattern showcases his intricate artistry through gracefully scrolling acanthus leaves and delicately rendered wallflowers. Inspired by the wallpaper in the drawing room of Sir Emery Walker, Morris’s close friend and collaborator, this iconic design captures the lively, sculptural quality that made their creative partnership so distinctive. Walker, a master engraver and printmaker, lived near Morris in Hammersmith, with both enjoying views over the Thames. Printed on cotton in a soothing thyme colourway, this lampshade brings botanical elegance and timeless Arts and Crafts character to modern interiors.
